Scottish Gaelic Alphabet :: Aibidil Gàidhlig na h-Alba
+ Print Design + Illustration
Project delivered → March 2022
There was an Instagram prompt account called Type 26. A prompt to create a letter every couple of weeks throughout the year until you get a complete alphabet.
I joined in with the intention of building up an alphabet for the Scottish Gaelic language. Both my Daughters were being schooled in the language on the Isle of Lewis, and this was a good chance to brush up.
The illustration style was very much geared toward preschool. The final posters were used as a learning tool in local schools and libraries.
I also turned them into a colouring book, which was sold in the local Arts Centre, An Lanntair, on the Island.
